Oct 6
2 min read
Â
đď¸October is Breast Cancer Awareness Monthâa time to honor those we have lost, celebrate survivors and thrivers, support those currently facing breast cancer, and remind women everywhere of the importance of taking care of their health.
At Plastic Surgery Plus, weâre proud to stand with the women and families whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.đ
More Than a Pink Ribbonđď¸
The pink ribbon represents so much more than a color. It represents strength, hope, courage, resilience, and community.
Breast cancer can affect women of all backgrounds and ages, which is why awareness and proactive breast health are so important. Taking the time to understand your own breast health, staying current with recommended screenings, and speaking with your healthcare provider about any changes or concerns can be meaningful steps toward early detection.
Know Your Body. Know Your Risk. Take Action.
Every womanâs health history and risk factors are different. Family history, genetics, age, lifestyle, and other factors can influence breast cancer risk, so itâs important to have conversations with your healthcare provider about what screenings and preventive care are appropriate for you.
Be mindful of changes in your breasts, including a new lump or thickening, changes in size or shape, skin changes, nipple changes, or unusual discharge. While many breast changes are not cancer, any new or concerning change deserves attention from a healthcare professional.
And remember: screening recommendations can vary based on your age and individual risk, so talk with your healthcare provider about the schedule that is right for you.
đSupporting Women Through Every Chapter
For women who have faced breast cancer and undergone a mastectomy, the journey doesnât necessarily end when treatment does. Breast reconstruction can be an important part of the healing process for some women, and there are several reconstructive options that may be considered depending on an individualâs anatomy, medical history, treatment, and personal goals.
At Plastic Surgery Plus, we believe every woman deserves compassionate, individualized care and the opportunity to make informed decisions about her body and her reconstruction journey.
Whether you are celebrating survivorship, supporting a loved one, navigating treatment, or simply taking a moment to prioritize your own health, you are not alone.
This October, Think Pinkđ
Wear your pink. Start the conversation. Encourage the women you love to prioritize their breast health. Support survivors.
And most importantly, donât put off taking care of yourself.
Early detection can save lives, and awareness can make a difference.
From all of us at Plastic Surgery Plus, weâre sending love, strength, and hope to every woman affected by breast cancer.
Together, we can spread awareness, support one another, and make a differenceâone woman at a time.
đThink Pink. Get Screened. Spread Awareness.
